Diagnostics

The F50C and I must have been made for each other: we are both obsessed with evaluation and diagnosis. Here are my results on some of my favorite scales.

Signature strength (per reviews): Bringing structure and a way forward to ambiguous situations.

Other key strengths (per reviews): Communication, challenging upwards, managing teams, career coaching, organization, project management.

Favorite thing to do professionally: broker connections among people, ideas and organizations that could not otherwise connect.

Top weaknesses – I claim them & I love them (per reviews and failures): hard quantitative analysis; advocating for my own promotion & advancement; confronting certain personality types (manipulators, uber-competitors) when they are out of line in a professional setting; being way too verbose.

Gallup Strengthsfinder top 5: Strategic, Input, Intellection, Maximizer, Futuristic

Hermann Brain Dominance Profile: Strategy (Yellow), People (Red) and Organization (Green) tied at 99. Analytic (Blue) following with a sad, sorry 33. Why on earth then did I focus on Finance in my MBA? Honestly, it was a specific strategic decision. Ha!

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: I either misplaced or threw out my results! Wow, what does that say about my Myers-Briggs type? A free online test (not the official MBTI) tells me I am INFJ – Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging, with Feeling as the strongest preference.

Strong Interest Inventory:

  • High on Enterprising and Conventional. Average on Artistic, Investigative, Social and Realistic.
  • Occupational interest scale = strong interest to be a Banker, Credit manager, Corporate Trainer, HR Director, Small Business Owner, Technical Writer, Librarian, Secretary, Accountant, Travel Agent.
  • Basic interest scale = high interest in Office Services, Merchandising, Organizational Management; average interest in Writing and Art.

You should note that every career interest assessment I’ve taken since childhood has suggested I become a Librarian or Secretary. Why am I neither? It’s true I am really jealous of my admin, Carey. She has an awesome job!

Adaptiv Resilience Profile: I’m off the charts on Empathy — In fact, last spring I took a workshop from Andrew Shatte’ himself, and when he saw my results he told me he was surprised and impressed because off the charts scores on any of the resiliance measures are very rare.  I have big weaknesses — and thus big opportunities to make an impact for myself — on Reaching Out (essentially the courage and willingness to take postive risks), and Positive Optimism.  Not surprising! Good thing optimism can be learned!
